No No.. I did not see a temple around here.
We went to Zermatt- Matterhorn the other day and seeing the Alps there we were reminded of our own Himalayas. And that lead to the discussion, how in India most places of such natural beauty have their own mythological story, a kind of history and some God associated with it. So we thought that if so many people are going to Gangotri, Jamunotri and Kailash parvat nowadays, Shivji must be totally tired and exhausted of seeing so many devotees. So apart from his own majestic Kailash where else on earth can he find a peaceful, secluded place... And there it was in front of us - Matterhorn. A single mountain of rock sitting atop a plateau which is already a very high climb from the plains. And you can clearly see there a grand glacier slowly creeping its way through the mountains and then melting to form a small stream which then goes ahead and becomes a river.
Now if Shivji had to ever relocate from Kailash temporarily (maybe while it was being renovated) I'm pretty sure it would be Matterhorn. And then life would be much easy. First of all, he can at least have peaceful sleep, where the Swiss transport system will not allow anybody to come up the mountain after dark. This is very unlike India where poor Gods have to give darshans all 24hrs. Appears like they started the 24*7 service. Then of course if a Swiss person makes any demands Shivji can always pretend that he does not understand German... Ohh.. but there are so many Indians also around. But try to understand... if they are already in Switzerland, either they are super rich, or super lucky IT workers like us. (In both cases being in Swiss is itself dream come true so they will not usually have much to demand). And Shivji also need not worry about getting out of touch. Swisscom network is always there (which is so strong that it works under every tunnel and on every mountain peak in Switzerland). So Narayanji can always call up Shivji (of course using one of the cheap calling cards) and keep him updated about the latest happenings in India. One of the chalets (wooden houses) can easily be rented for a season with the best heating system and finest flowers in the window.
